Soundspin04

Finally... a new mix!  Last mix I put together was back in March.  Geez I guess life just keeps getting in the way!  Anyhow wanted to change things up a bit.  This mix has a more dark...deep tech house feel to it.  With all the EDM hitting the airwaves I wanted to give my ears a break and do something different.

This mix features some tracks I have downloaded for a while now.  The last track on the mix is by Demuir, a producer that I know and have opened for in the past.  He runs a label called Mikita Skyy (check out www.beatport.com to see all his releases).  Most of the stuff on his label is more on the Jackin`House tip but lately he has been experimenting on the Tech House side.

This track remixed by Demuir with the original created by Murr features the voice of Rosina.  The first time I heard her voice (check out `My Best Dress`) I was instantly mesmerized. Something about her voice just draws you in....haunting at times!  Anyhow she and Murr are part of a Toronto Indie band called LAL.  Have yet to check them out but let`s just say that for this mix...def saved the best for last!

Here is the track list:

1. Tomorrow Belongs To Us - Bookashade
2. Twisted Sister - M.A.N.D.Y
3. Unkown - Saschienne
4. Deeper - Sascha Cava, Martin Dahl
5. Wonderland - Ramon Tapia
6. Wherever (Kabale Und Liebe @ Lauhaus Remix) - Alexis Cabrera
7. They Frontin' Feat Monty Luke (Original Mix) - Catz 'n Dogz
8. Night Track (M.A.N.D.Y Remix) - Sasha, James Teej
9. Machines - Mark Reeve & Dean Demmanuel
10. Move on Me (Original Mix) - Danny Serrano, Darlyn Vlys
11. Broken Down (Demuir Mix) - Murr ft Rosina

Enjoy!

Soundspin03

Here is my latest installment in the soundspin mix series!

The mix starts off with a few progressive numbers from the D-Nox and Beckers's "Distance Remix's Part II" EP and then transitions into a few tech house numbers in "Cyclone" and "Stay High Baby".  I can't seem to escape Maetrik these days.  In fact Maetrik and Maceo Plex are the same producers.  His Maetrik moniker is for the more hard techno releases and the latter for his more deep house / tech house affairs.  Either way I really like what this guy is producing.

You may notice "Poison" making a return which showed up in soundspin02.  This time I opted for the Original mix.  This version is more techy and I really love this track.

One thing I started getting into is Mastering the mix.... in other words making the mix sound more uniform accross all the tracks.  Mastering is a science to say the least.  So with my few hours of experience I am hoping that with some tinkering with some of the default settings this mix will sound much better then what I have released before.  You should notice that acrross the whole mix you should not have to touch your volume control!

Anyhow...please enjoy. Any feedback is appreciated!

You can download the mix here.

Here is the track list:

1. I Will Rise (Guy J Remix) - D-Nox and Beckers
2. What I have (Uto Karem Remix) - D-Nox and Beckers
3. Cyclone (Noir FGD Mash Edit) - K Alex, Jamie Anderson
4. Stay High Baby - Maceo Plex
5. The Entity - Maetrik
6. Is Deeper (Marshall Remix) - Wally Lopez, Ismael Rivas
7. Opa Locka - Luigi Rocca, Manuel Del Mar
8. Gringo - Mendo Mendo & Andrew Butlano
9. Audition - Steve Lawler
10. Poison - Lauhauhs
11. M.U.G.E.N - Nicolas Masseyeff

On to the next mix!

Soundspin02

Well it is a new year and what better way to start it off with a new mix upload for your ears to enjoy!  Unlike the first mix which was more of a "housey" affair this mix features some pretty heavy and dirty techno tracks which may do some damage to your speakers...

Look out for Poison by Lauhaus.  I absolutely love this track which I talked about in one of my earlier posts.  The mix starts off with a nice little melodic vocal number in "Changed" and then slowly gets heavier and harder towards the middle of the mix where "Special Stuff" and "Follow" adds a little darker element.  Both "Follow" and "Finally Mine" were both featured on John Digweeds "Structures Two" release which means these tracks are time and tested on dance floors throughout the world...

1.     Changed – Mario Basanov
2.     Desitination Education – Gui Boratto
3.     Finally Mine (Gorge Remix) – Misstress Barbara
4.     Nope – John Lagora
5.     Limiter (Dualton Remix) – Erphun & Jim Rivers
6.     Poison (Anton Pieete & Bart Skils Remix) – Lauhaus
7.     Special Stuff (Tony DeClerque Remix) – Flow Superstars
8.     Follow – Phaneoh Feat Maetrik
9.     While My Wiki Gently Leaks -  John Acquaviva & Olivier Giacomotto
10.   Krakra Hurricane – Luigi Rocca
11.   Animals (Manuel De La Mare Savanha Remix)
12.   Fact – Stefano Nofereni

Stream it here:

Or you can download it here: Soundspin01 (Aug 2011)

This is a housey affair that starts off with a great vocal track in "Want You In My Soul".  Later on "Pasilda" enters the mix.   I've had this remix for a while and love the vocal you should recognize it.  "Back!" is probably the most repetitive song you have ever heard.  But it is sure to get your feet moving!

One of my favs though is Big Black Boot's "Vibrate" originally released in 2003 which has made a wicked comeback.  It has been co-remixed by Toronto's Jerome Robins.  Listen for the classic vocal "Girl I'll house you...You're in my hut now!" that was added to the track... sweet....

Since I have launched this new website and company logo I am re-naming the mix. Sunday Sessions is no longer. Mainly because I don't record mixes on Sundays like I used to back in the day but more so to keep the name "soundspin" engrained in your brain ;)

So enjoy.  Feedback is welcome.  My next release will be coming soon...no not in 3 years....hopefully.  But my son Mattias is only 8 months...so him turning 3 years old is a long way away... :)
